The College of Business recently honored three of its prominent Alumni at the annual Distinguished Alumni Dinner event on September 11th. The dinner gala was held to recognize the significant contributions made by its honorees to the business community, the College and charitable entities.
Local CPA and consultant Wanda Ginner (’68), Newspaper Mogul J.J. McClatchy (’65) and Global Businessman James Thompson (’62) were among this year’s award recipients who received accolades for their support of the College and their impact in the corporate arena.

Friends, families and College of Business cohorts all gathered to share in the celebration and dinner festivities at the renowned Sainte Claire Hotel. The Hotel Atrium provided the perfect setting for event guests to mingle and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wine before heading to the dining area for the reception.

“Growing a Culture of Excellence” was the prominent theme for the evening. Tiny tree samplings served as party favors, encouraging guests to grow and foster themselves both personally and professionally.

Dean David Steele presented the honorees with the Distinguished Alumni Award during dinner. The awardees each said a few words about their personal experiences and how they achieved their success as well as their college experience at San Jose State University.
